![]() Love this product, it was easy to put on, tremendous amount of recoil/rise reduction on my aero precision. ![]() Coupled with the JP silent capture spring is pure gold. Took my DD5V3 and calmed the recoil tremendously. I will be putting another Hypertap on my 22 target rifle. Didn't do a whole lot for 7.62 but it did help. Shooting the 5.56 is more like shooting a 22 long rifle. I have a Hypertap on my AR15 and one on my AR10. Absolutely no rise you never lose your sight picture. I can't recommend this brake highly enough. My 6.5 PRC shoots with less recoil then a 5.56 !!! Very very good to manage recoil and muzzle rise. Posted by Eric Martineau on 22nd May 2023 *Scroll to FAQ section on this page for further explanation Additional features include: zero flash increase, compact lightweight design, a rugged skeletonized crown, cleaning friendly design, heat-treated stainless steel construction, a tough Ionbond® CrCN finish for superior durability and, as always, 100% Made in the USA. An integral universal timing nut eliminates the need for shims and allows quick field installation & removal using an adjustable wrench or the lightweight spanner tools (included). Fully tunable gas biasing allows the shooter to further reduce, or even eliminate, sight picture movement while firing. This results in exceptional safety, less gas blowback, better accuracy, and higher overall shooter comfort than any other device in its class. Our proprietary Hybrid Baffle Design combined with advanced Convergent-Divergent port geometry yields an unprecedented recoil reduction of over 84%*, nearly 10% higher than our M4-72, while maintaining modest 35-degree baffle angles and generous bore clearance. ![]() So, one more question. Is it fully legal to thread the barrel then put the brake on and weld it? That's ok? Or do I need to pin it and do something else to hold it on? I will only do legal stuff.Developed from the ground up and backed by knowledge gained from years of pushing the edge of muzzle device performance, the Hypertap muzzle brake delivers more than we’ve ever offered before. I'm sure it will take me a while to find somebody to put it on for me. So, as long as I can find brakes at a gun show, I'll go there to be sure I'm getting the right size. But what I would like is faster target aquisition. I'm not going to go rapid fire any time soon. If I could get the grouping a little tighter than 8 ft. But it was a lesson that had to be learned. The first shot hit but all the others seemed to get farther and farther away. The target was a computer case about 75 yards out. Haven't done that yet and always wanted to. I pulled the trigger as fast as I could, just for kicks. Downside fo that is the shipping time and cost involved. ![]() If all that fails, there are AK smiths to which you can ship your rifle to have a brake permanently attached (thread, screw on, then weld). Failing that, go to a machine shop (don't bring the rifle in with you right away - just a hint). Best bet to find a smith would probably be to find a gun/sportsman's club and inquire there. I don't think you will have too much luck looking in the phone book, but then again, I'm in Mass. Yes, most smiths can thread your muzzle for you. Then I got a FAL, but that's a different story. My AK has negligible recoil, but the muzzle rise was irritating. Muzzle rise, which is what Sacco is describing. The short version - recoil is force to the rear of the rifle along the axis of the bore. AK 74 style brakes for 7.62 are readily available from commercial channels, so I've never had to bugger with one. Question on converting a real 74 brake to 7.62 - I don't know. Others have shimmed their brakes to obtain a better fit.įrom a legal standpoint, it's fine to thread your barrel, just make sure you weld the damn brake on after. I think that's the correct address.this is from memory, so please bear with me. I got my pin on brake at a gunshow, from 's table. ![]() So worth the money!!! Not a bad seat in the Dolby Live. Antoine Lavoisier proposed the name azote from Greek meaning no life, as animals and flames died in pure nitrogen, and whilst this was adopted in other languages, only the chemical term azo- was adopted in English, as did the name pnictogen (Greek for producing suffocation) for the group to which nitrogen belongs. Rutherford did not identify it as an element and several other contemporary scientists also investigated it and proposed the names burnt air and phlogisticated air. Even though 78% of the Earth’s atmosphere is nitrogen gas, it was only discovered in 1772 by Daniel Rutherford who called it noxious air. The underlying mechanisms that damage sperm and impair fertilization are not completely understood. The phenomenon of heat-induced male infertility is well known, and the effects of modern exposures to heat such as hot tubs, tight clothing and excessive drive times have been extensively studied. Human studies have found that exposure to temperatures as little as 1 degree C (1.8 F) above this normal range adversely affects male fertility, said Diana Libuda, a professor in the Department of Biology and Institute of Molecular Biology. , is a urologist in Mankato, Minnesota. In humans, the optimal temperature for sperm production is just below body temperature, in a range of about 90-95 degrees F. Talk with your health care team if you have concerns about testicular pain or fertility, or if you have a sudden onset varicocele, as it could be a sign of other health conditions.ĭavid Yang, M.D. Most varicoceles develop slowly over time. A radiologist injects a coil or solution that scars and closes the troublesome veins, like leg varicose vein treatment. The procedure usually takes two hours in an operating room.Ī different procedure option is called embolization. The enlarged veins are closed off while the arteries are protected. During this procedure, the surgeon uses an operative microscope and a doppler probe to assess blood flow through the testicle. One type of surgery to treat varicoceles is called microsurgical subinguinal varicocelectomy. While the aim is to improve pain or fertility, the appearance of the varicocele may not change after surgery. Surgery aims to ligate the troublesome veins while preserving adequate blood flow through the arteries feeding the testicle. However, surgery may be necessary for men with significant testicular pain or low sperm counts affecting fertility or young boys with delays in testicle growth. Varicoceles that aren't causing pain, discomfort or other symptoms don't need to be treated. The cooler testicle temperatures are more conducive to a high sperm count. Similarly, men with fertility challenges are told to avoid hot tubs and saunas. Pooling blood in a varicocele can heat the testicles above the optimal temperature, leading to lower sperm counts. This is why the scrotum and testicles are outside the body cavity. Sperm production is most efficient at a lower temperature, about 4 degrees lower than the average body temperature. Varicoceles can affect fertility because they can affect the temperature of the testicle. About 40% of men with fertility problems have a varicocele. It's estimated that 10% to 20% of men diagnosed with varicoceles have difficulties fathering a child. Occasionally, the testicle with varicocele can be smaller than the unaffected testicle.Ĭhallenges conceiving a child can occur due to varicocele's effect on sperm production. Varicoceles symptomsįor many men, varicoceles cause no symptoms or discomfort. In some patients, they can lead to impaired fertility. It's more common to have a varicocele on the left side of the scrotum because of differences in the vein anatomy. Varicoceles usually develop over time, beginning in puberty, but can occur at any age. They develop when blood pools in the veins instead of circulating out of the scrotum. Even after finally hearing the Janis Joplin version at TGI Friday’s somewhere in the early-mid 00’s, this has still always been my favorite version of the song, personally. I especially always thought the steel and electric guitar sounded pretty neat when they blended together near the end of the instrumental break. I absolutely love Faith’s vocals on it, along with the fiddle and steel heavy neo-traditional arrangement. This is actually one of the songs that brings back the most fond memories of those times for me, especially around late 1996-early 1997. It was just one of my new favorite songs that I would always enjoy hearing on the radio as I got back into listening to country radio in the mid 90’s. But even now, it’s mainly older country that I listen to, along with just a handful of newer stuff I happen to like.įor the longest time, I also never even knew that Faith Hill’s “Piece Of My Heart” was a cover. I wouldn’t start exploring other types of music again (mostly 80’s rock and pop) until around 2003-2004 when I felt that mainstream country was going downhill. ![]() Peter – You’re not the only one-trick musical pony! Other than my brief detours into Oldies, old Jazz, and Soft Rock around 1993-1994, country was pretty much my main genre in the 90’s, and it was certainly the one I was the most passionate about (Heck, it still is, even though I strongly dislike most of the modern mainstream stuff). ![]() Next: Clint Black, “A Good Run of Bad Luck” Previous: Tracy Lawrence, “If the Good Die Young” | 1 hit from Take Me As I Am, which we’ll cover soon. She sings it with gusto, and leans into the heartache of the lyric rather than leaning into its defiance. I have no problem going to bat for this record. Much hullaballoo was made at the time that she’d never heard the Joplin version, but it’s worth noting that her sunny country cover of the hit isn’t too far off from the original Franklin arrangement. “Piece of My Heart” was a hit twice over in the sixties, first as an R&B hit for Erma Franklin, and then immortalized as a rock classic by Big Brother and the Holding Company, featuring Janis Joplin on lead vocals.Ĭo-writer Bert Berns had been pitching it as a country song in the early nineties, and that’s the version that Faith Hill heard and recorded. The music itself is tight, epic, meandering and very dreamlike. The vocals are stellar, and the screams are some of the coldest and most spine-chilling I have heard in a while. I would probably say “Nowhere, Still Somewhere” is the most straightforward goth rock/shoegaze song I have heard in her discography I would say the song is a beautiful combo of Type O Negative meets My Bloody Valentine and I think it shows the growth and maturity of Sylvaine’s songwriting chops. In the end after all the pain one has been through is a feeling of recovery, healing, and seeing the world (as well as your existence) in a new light as you will hear in the final song “Everything Must Come To An End”.Īs for the middle of the album there are so many different and intriguing ideas happening throughout “Nova” there is a lot of heavy songs with straight up black metal coldness abound especially in “Mono No Aware”, “Fortapt”, and “I Close My Eyes So I Can See” but there is that ever-distinct warmth and beauty sprinkled throughout these songs that makes Sylvaine’s work so unique and interesting to hear. If I could think of the proper words, it would be memories, anger, melancholia, shock, ends, beginnings, and the dreams/nightmares that come when you go through a painful transition in your life. There is a real sense of finding self in the first song “Nova” and as the album progresses you are introduced to a multitude of emotions and journeys of the inner psyche of Sylvaine. I would say the sonic journey “Nova” puts the listener through hits all these concepts in big and small ways. Though during this dark time there was an enlightenment that was found in those dank caves each passing day. The pandemic brought death, divorces, break-ups, layoffs, and every other bad thing about life in-between. These past two years have been an age of difficult transitions and thinking about the concepts of mortality every day. I could feel the pain, the longing, and the hope in waves as the album progressed. There is a raw, vulnerable, and very introspective tone in every single song. For me it was a very painful, and strenuous time in my own life, and from hearing “Nova” it sounds like it was also a very difficult time in Sylvaine’s life too. I find it very appropriate that the new album came out and was written during the height of the pandemic. ![]() Though, I will have to say that “Nova” has exceeded all my expectations yet again and I would call it maybe an even darker work than “Atoms Aligned, Coming Undone”. ![]() My feelings on that album are just as positive as “Wistful” and it is a beautiful work across the board, and in my opinion an even darker album in many ways. ![]() As a disclaimer I did not get around to reviewing “Atoms Aligned, Coming Undone” back in 2018 because life got in the way at that time. And here we are on a Tuesday and I was graciously given Sylvaine’s newest opus “Nova” from Seasons of Mist to review for you all. Being able to write down my thoughts and feelings about music that moves me is such a gift and I am glad all you readers who have found my work enjoy reading it too. Since that time in May of 2016 (the same month “Wistful” came out) I have been keeping up with my blog as best I could, and it has turned out to be such a beautiful and satisfying success in my professional/personal life. It was my first ever review for my blog and one of the catalysts to what made me want to start blogging about the underground music industry to begin with. I came across her newest album “Wistful” back then and I was just blown away about how dreamy, ethereal, and raw the music was. Back in 2016 I was introduced to a project by a multi-instrumentalist under the moniker of Sylvaine from Norway. |
